Diabetes Hope Foundation

The Diabetes Hope Scholarship is open to students who:
- are in their final year at a Canadian secondary school and entering an accredited post-secondary institution in the fall of 2024.
- live in Canada as a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
- hold a valid Social Insurance Number.
- have received care for Type 1 Diabetes by a Canadian Pediatric Health Care team or physician for a minimum of 1 year preceding this application.

Lisa Huus Bursary

This fund was established to assist persons with disabilities to undertake or continue their post-secondary education at an accredited post-secondary institution in British Columbia (tuition fees, textbooks, equipment, transportation, residence and support workers costs)
The bursary was established in 1988 by the family of Lisa Pauline Huus, a sociology student at the University of Victoria. “Lisa fought for her rights to go to university to be treated just like any other students”, says her mother Annie Huus.

BCSTA Scholarships for Student Citizenship

The BCSTA Scholarships for Student Citizenship recognize graduating students for outstanding contributions they have made to their school and community. These scholarships reflect BCSTAs commitment to its values: Focus on students, support lifelong learning, support public education, recognize the importance of community in public education and provide opportunities to recognize and celebrate public education.

BCSSA Scholarships
The British Columbia School Superintendents Association will award seven regional scholarships to students planning to pursue post-secondary studies. Students wishing to be considered for a scholarship must be currently enrolled in their final year of studies at a public secondary school in British Columbia and expected to graduate in June 2025. One recipient will be chosen from each of the seven BCSSA provincial chapters (Fraser Valley, Kootenay-Boundary, Metro, Vancouver Island, Northern, Thompson-Okanagan, Indigenous). Each recipient will be awarded a $1,500 scholarship.
In selecting the recipients for this year’s awards, the scholarship committees will consider demonstrated distinctive leadership that has made significant impacts to the social, ethical and collaborative fabric and practice of school(s) and community. Letters of reference will be required affirming the applicant’s accomplishments and efforts to improve the quality of life and foster diversity, equity and inclusion. The applicant must submit a short description (450 words maximum) of how their leadership has made a difference in the life or lives of others in their school and/or community. Leadership examples may include, but are not limited to, the following domains: arts, trades, physicality, scholastics, social justice, equity, well-being, diversity, advocacy, and cultural responsiveness. The recipients will be announced in late spring 2025.

British Columbia Excellence and Pathway to Teacher Education Scholarships

Cmolik Foundation Scholarships
The Cmolik Foundation will award up to 20 scholarships, each one a maximum of $45,000 paid over five years of study, to students graduating from BC high schools. Scholarship recipients have faced adversity but have responded with positivity and tenacity, achieving academic and social goals.
Students who are awarded the Undergraduate Scholarship are eligible to apply for our Graduate Scholarships, three $30,000 scholarships awarded each year.
Each secondary school may put forth one student who they feel meet our criteria. The students must:
- Be a current resident of BC
- Have lived in Canada for a minimum of 7 years,
- Be in Grade 12 or a recent secondary school graduate
- Have demonstrated financial need
- Have faced adversity
- Plan to be a full-time student
- Be ineligible for the BC Tuition Waiver Program (for former youth in care)
- Use funding for a post-secondary institution or college
- Be endorsed by their school principal
In certain circumstances, with prior approval, schools can submit an application for a second student.

Public Guardian and Trustee Educational Assistance Fund
Value: $500 to $4,000
Each year, education bursaries are available through the Public Guardian and Trustee Educational Assistance Fund. The bursaries are intended to help individuals who were formerly in the permanent care of the provincial government reach their educational goals.
To be eligible for the bursary, you need to be:
- A former permanent ward of the Ministry of Social Services or
- Formerly in the continuing custody of the Ministry of Children and Family Development
(MCFD) or a Delegated Aboriginal Agency (DAA)/Indigenous Child and Family Service Agency (ICFSA)
- You must have been a permanent ward or in continuing custody until age 19
- A high school graduate or equivalent
- Enrolled or planning to enroll in a post-secondary academic, technical or vocational program between September 2025 to August 2026.

EFMABC Bursaries
Value: 5 @ $1,000
The Educational Facility Managers Association of BC is pleased to offer five bursaries to graduates of the 2023/2024 school year. The Association is comprised of administrative and management personnel of school districts who are responsible for construction, maintenance, and custodial services, etc.
Eligibility: Secondary students completing their grade 12 year who will enter a recognized post-secondary educational institution in the 2024/2025 term. Bursaries will be awarded based on academic achievement and/or special needs. Preference will be given to students entering the fields of engineering, architecture, or building technology. All applicants MUST be dependents of school district employees in the school facilities area (i.e. Maintenance or Custodial).
Application forms, are available from your school Counsellor, or your district’s Maintenance EFMABC member, and are to be completed in full.

Studies in French as a Second Language (FSL)
Value: each bursary is worth $3,000
The bursaries for postsecondary studies in French as a second language program (FSL) is a yearly bursary program funded by the Department of Canadian Heritage and administered by the ACUFC.
The aim of the program is to contribute to the increase of bilingualism among young English-speaking Canadians.

Grace Family Network Foundation (GFNF)
Founded in the memory of Rebecca Chan, the Grace Family Network Foundation (gfnf) is a non-profit organization that aims to support and encourage under-resourced children and youth in the Metro Vancouver area. gfnf is the embodiment of Rebecca’s heart for others and the hope that it will be carried on in some small way.
Three scholarships of $1000 each are available to Metro Vancouver area students graduating in 2025 and beginning their studies at any post-secondary institution in the Fall of 2025. Priority will be given to students in financial need. Applications must be received in full by 11:59pm on May 31st, 2025. Winners will be notified in July, 2025.

Keeping to TELUS’ philanthropic philosophy, we give where we live, TELUS Student Bursary, the largest national bursary fund in Canada, is open for applications from undergraduate students in any year of study for the 2024-2025 academic year. The bursary provides financial assistance to young people across the country who are experiencing financial need and who are committed to giving back in their local communities through a social impact initiative. Bursaries valued between $3,000 – $5,000 can be put toward tuition fees at any post-secondary institution in Canada.

Rick & Amanda Hansen Scholarship for Youth with Disabilities
The Rick & Amanda Hansen Scholarship for Youth with Disabilities. These scholarships provide financial support to Canadian youth with disabilities looking to complete a 1- to 4- year post-secondary program.
Funding of up to $40,000 is available, up to 3 scholarships are available.

Horatio Alger Canadian Scholarships
Our Horatio Alger Canadian Scholarships and National Entrepreneurial Scholarships for the Class of 2026 will open December 1, 2024. Any additional information will be shared on our Scholarship page.
- The Horatio Alger Association provides $1.8 million annually in need-based scholarship support for deserving students in all Canadian provinces and territories. Scholarships of up to $25,000 are awarded to full-time grade 11 high school students with financial need (family income under $65,000) who have demonstrated integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity, a commitment to pursue a post-secondary education, a desire to contribute to society, and a good academic record. The Horatio Alger Association also awards individuals pursuing a certificate or diploma program through its Vocational and Technical scholarships of up to $3,400.
